McPherson Cellars

The deep plumb McPherson Syrah 2003 ($15.99) tickles the nose with red fruit, tobacco, licorice, chocolate and leather. On the palate it is delicately fruited with gentle tannins and nicely balanced overall. If this is what the future holds for Texas Syrahs, then the future is bright. McPherson is made by second generation winemaker Kim McPherson, whose McPerson Cellars was created to honor his father, Dr. Clinton “Doc” McPerson, a founder and pioneer of the modern Texas wine industry.
