Here are two exciting finds from my year-end trip to the Kerrville/Hunt area….
One step into Schreiner Goods and I thought I’d been teleported to a big city boutique. But no, I am in downtown Kerrville and just entered this fun, sophisticated shop in the old Schreiner’s department store space. I was thrilled to find a well edited selection of au courant women’s apparel and accessories, unique home goods, like lamps and tabletop items as well as men’s clothing. Schreiner Goods injects a hip, playful element into the Kerrville shopping scene.
On the dining front, I visited Antler Grill at Stablewood Springs Resort in Hunt. At this cozy spot, enjoy the vista and the food. Appreciate the fresh ingredients and house-made dressings and soups. A bacon cheeseburger at lunch was cooked to perfection. A peek at the dinner menu showed nice selection of game. Antler Grill is opened to the public, but call ahead (830.238.5861) for a reservation. Open Thursday – Sunday, 1270 Hwy. 39 in Hunt. -alyce eyster
