Grab Your Gourmet Getaway
You’ve seen Built NY’s cool neoprene wine totes that keep bottles insulated andprotected. Check out their Gourmet Getaway, what they call the “picnic basket of the future.” Larger than a lunch size tote, this bag is available in a solid, a sassy stripe and a few other prints. Made of neoprene too, the bag insulates hot or cold food and beverages for up to 4 hours. It stretches and has a soft-grip handle for easy and comfortable handling. What’s more, the bag lays flat, is machine washable and stain resistant. Picnic season is just around the corner. And it’s just $24.95 from Sur La Table.
A Kitchen Essential
I love to cook and write about food for my profession so why is it that I still have the light, wimpy roasting pan that I got after college when I was setting up my first apartment? Time for a new roaster. And they don’t come cheap. If monies’ no object then check into the Mauviel Roaster/Braiser for $1210. That’s right – $1210. Or the Mauviel Roasting pan for $490. There’s a Viking stainless steal version with a rack for $275. The practical side of me settled on Sur La Table’s house brand roaster. Heavy guage? Check. Excellent heat conductivity? Check. Ergonomically designed handles that stay cool on the stove? Check. This baby is made of 18/10 stainless steel with an inner layer of aluminum. We’re certain Sur La Table won’t steer us wrong. The 12×16 inch is $149.95.
