Cardamom Spiced Nuts

holiday nutsHere’s a spiced nut recipe I experimented with lately.

I like a spicy and slightly sweet nut and I love cardamom, and this recipe reflects those flavors.

These are great to garnish a cheese course or in a salad or just by themselves.

Cardamom Spiced Nuts

Serves: 1 cup
 
Ingredients
  • 1 Tblsp agave nectar
  • 1 Tblsp honey
  • ⅛ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp cardamom
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (I like pecans, cashews and/or almonds)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a foil lined baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Combine all ingredients but the nuts and mix well. Add nuts and stir until nicely coated.
  3. Spread on the baking sheet and bake 10-15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Keep a close eye on them after 10 minutes to prevent over cooking.
